Raised and covered decks in West Linn, OR

West Linn is an Oregon city on the service list. If the backyard is not flat, the deck is a raised or multi-level structure, not a platform sitting on grade. That is a construction fact about the yard in front of us, not a claim that every West Linn lot slopes.

Photos of that kind of deck: a raised cedar deck with wood rail on a sloped backyard, an elevated covered wood deck on a hillside home, and an elevated wood deck with black rail on a modern house. None of the captions says West Linn. The hillside one does not name a city at all.

What changes on a tall deck

A cover on a tall deck adds load. If you want the roof, it has to be in the footing design, not bolted on later.
