Drainage and grading in Tualatin, OR

Tualatin is on the Oregon service list. The landscaping problem we are writing about here is water. The landscaping page says it plainly: in this climate, grading, drainage, and erosion control are part of the job, not a cosmetic add-on.

The materials for that are river rock and gravel, including dry creek beds, plus plants that can live here once they are established. Natives we name are sword fern, salal, Oregon grape, and red flowering currant. Bark and compost stay in the beds that are not trying to move water.

We do not have a Tualatin-labeled project photo, and we will not borrow one. Fences and decks are available in Tualatin too. If the yard is wet, fix the grade before you put a solid fence along the low side and trap the water.

A drainage visit

We want to see the yard in the context of the house: where the downspouts land, where the lawn stays soft, and where a fence would cross the flow.

A dry creek is a shaped rock bed, not a pipe we pretend is landscaping. If you need a piped system, say so. Irrigation installation was on the old FAQ and is not offered on this site until the owner confirms it.
