Covered decks and patio covers in Lake Oswego, OR

Lake Oswego is on the Oregon service list. The outdoor project we are describing here is a cover: a roof over a deck or patio, a pergola, or a trellis. All three are named in our terms of service.

The gable patio cover with exposed beams is a Vancouver photo, over a concrete patio. Covered cedar porches, including a tongue-and-groove ceiling and white rail, are in the deck photos without a city label. A review from Justin J describes custom gable trusses and a patio privacy screen on his own project. None of that is labeled Lake Oswego, and this page will not pretend it is.

If you want the cover on a deck you already have, we have to see whether the posts and footings can carry a roof. If they cannot, it is a rebuild. Oregon CCB 241262 is the license, and the permit, if Lake Oswego requires one, is part of the bid.

Cover types

A patio cover leaves the slab you have and puts a roof on it. The Vancouver gable is that kind of structure.

A covered deck is the floor and the roof together. That is a longer build than a fence, closer to the one-to-two-week deck range, and longer if it is two stories or on a slope.

A pergola or trellis is open overhead. It is shade and structure, not a dry room. We will not call it a roof.
